I'll look like I'm being difficult here, but I honestly am not. XI SP 4 could be Crystal Reports 11.0, SP 4 or Crystal Reports 11.5 SP 4. Some people even call Crystal Reports 2011 as XI. Anyhow. To move along and stop preaching 
We want to be at CR 11.5 (also called CR XI R2 - sorry, but I have to just so it's all above board), Service Pack 6. Here is a Blog on how to get to CR XI R2 SP6.
Note that CR XI R2 is only supported with VS 2002, 2003, and 2005.
For VS 2008 you need CR 2008 (V. 12.x), or the verson of CR that bundled with VS 2008; Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (v. 10.5).
For VS 2010, 2012, 2013 yo want to use SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET, SP 9.
